A bit of story and curiosity
Lucullus is the name of a Consul of the Ancient Rome who lived in 74 before Christ.
Its reputation is due to the fact that he was a real fine palace, a researcher of the perfection.
Lucullus was provided all the specialities, as much in dishes than in spices, resulting of any corners of the immense Roman Empire, then he organized " the most luxurious imperial banquets ", without forgetting however the aspect of the health of the body.
" mens sana in corpore sano ", as the ancestors used to say.
The preparation and the combination of the various ingredients were under a rigourous control. It is not said that a “lucculus diner” is due for abundance but for the variety and the wonderful taste of the dish. Lucullus would be thus comparable to the big " chef Gourmets ", whom we can meet nowadays.
