You can use any kind of heat. There are several possibilities to get the ideal temperature of 300°C for the stone.

• on direct flame: electric- or gasstove (put a flame sieve between flame and stove), oven, fire-place, barbecue or glowing fire.
• indirect flame: oven

Time to get the right temperature of the stone:

direct flame:

• 30 min. (to get the right temperature), the stone keeps its temperature for 60 min.

indirect flame:

• oven (250 - 300°C) 60 min. (to get the right temperature), the stone keeps its temperature for 60 min.
